Job Description

A well-established personal injury law firm is seeking an Human Resources Manager to join their team! The HR Manager will lead all HR functions, promote employee engagement, and ensure compliance.


Location: Houston, TX Central - ONSITE

Pay: $85,000 - $90,000

Type: Temp to Hire


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full recruitment process and onboarding program to ensure a smooth integration of new hires into the organization.
  • Work closely with hiring manager to identify needs, create job descriptions, and throughout the hiring process.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll in Paylocity for salaried and hourly employees.
  • Process monthly bonus disbursements.
  • Manage the full benefits process to include enrollments, terminations, and changes for Medical, Dental, Vision and ancillary plans.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Point of contact for all compensation, benefits, and leave situations.
  • Handle disciplinary matters, disputes, performance and investigations
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Work with government agencies in the event of any announced/unannounced inspections or audits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • SHRM certification a plus
  • 3+ years of full cycle HR, benefits administration, and payroll processing experience required.
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance, ADA, FMLA, TWC processes and the ability to handle issues independently.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and Paylocity (or similar) software
