Staff Project Controls Specialist - Scheduler

Job Description:
The Staff Project Controls Specialist is responsible for overseeing project control processes to ensure successful project execution within budget and schedule. This role involves collaboration with the internal project management team and requires a strong understanding of scheduling, cost management, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up projects in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
- Analyze data, maintain logs, and generate reports using project management tools.
- Create and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Develop, implement, and maintain scheduling reports, cost forecasts, cash flows, and progress tracking for multiple projects.
- Support project execution plans, covering engineering, procurement, construction, logistics, and cost control.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for project-related inquiries.
- Approve purchase orders and subcontracts for proper coding and documentation.
- Update and maintain cost reports, forecasts, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with the Project Management and Accounting teams to review costs, contingencies, and audit compliance.
- Evaluate and manage upstream (prime contract) and downstream (purchase order and subcontract) change orders.
- Prepare and present cash flow and schedule reports.
- Create, review, and analyze schedules, including resource loading and logic ties.
- Support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM) and deliver project schedule updates.
- Utilize critical path method (CPM) techniques for schedule analysis and "what-if" scenarios.
- Establish and maintain earned value management (EVM) systems, progress measurement tools, and performance curves.
- Conduct material takeoffs and quality checks on project control deliverables.
- Perform field audits to ensure reporting and process accuracy.
- Assist with project forensic analysis as needed.
- Comply with company policies, standards, and safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with 3 years of direct project controls experience (applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement).
- Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- OSHA 10-hour safety certification (or ability to obtain).
