Job Summary
AMR Logistics Operations is a fast-moving and dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes required for success. The Americas Distribution Center Operations Regional Supplier Manager will be customer-focused, process-minded, and passionate for excellence. The Regional Supplier Manager will be the onsite liaison between Client and the 3PL at the distribution center.
The candidate must be able to achieve predetermined targets and demonstrate personal initiative with a focus on driving superior customer service and process efficiency. Additionally, the candidate must have a laser focus on supporting the critical tactical and strategic initiatives, including Customer Delight, Process Excellence (Precision), Cost Leadership, and Continuous Improvement. This role requires strong business acumen, people skills, service provider leadership, and innovative process improvement skills to drive customer satisfaction in delivery management and order fulfillment. Also, leadership skills are highly desired to inspire exceptional performance and facilitate an energetic environment leading to results that deliver a consistent, excellent experience for team members and customers.
Key Qualifications
• At least 2+ experience in distribution/logistics/manufacturing
• Experience working with 3PL logistics providers preferred but not required
• Robust understanding of supply chain dynamics and literate in warehouse management systems.
• Experience in a fast-moving industry (high tech, customer electronics)
• Ability to maintain poise and a positive attitude in a challenging, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Strong Excel & analytical skills
• Experience with SAP preferred, and understandings of basic inventory controls
• Proven process improvement skills with natural curiosity and desire to understand how things work
• Strong project management & leadership skills with an understanding of lean principles in operations management
• Strong work ethic with a high degree of flexibility
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment; team player
• Comfort with ambiguity
• Implementation experience with warehouse automation (Autonomous vehicles/robotics/etc.) and/or strong working knowledge of latest market trends
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
Description
• Oversight of supplier performance in support of Client Americas Distribution
• Manage and maintain a strong working relationship with external partners in support of Client Americas distribution as the Client stakeholder on-site at the DC
• Drive site execution of Client established KPIs
• Will identify logistics areas for process improvement and cost savings to ensure expectations are met
• Partner with site to investigate defects, find root causes, and develop solutions
• Tactical support of critical delivery events such as New Product Introduction, Quarter-end, and Black Friday while working with seasonality in volumes and workload
• Ability to own strategic initiatives in addition to day-to-day tactical operations
• Provide analytical support for projects, key performance indicators, and capital planning
• Collaborate with associates to improve efficiency, productivity, and processes
• Responsible for maintaining, tracking, and analyzing all inbound and outbound shipments, including working with carriers and the 3PL provider
• Accountable for preparing statistical data for contract negotiations and participating in negotiations
• Lead the analysis and provide statistical information on the tracking of product shipments and inventory
• Evaluate existing capabilities to establish new systems and processes for monitoring, measurement, reporting, and analysis of DC performance
• Providing reports to management: inventory, distribution, freight, cycle times, etc.
Education
BS/BA degree preferred
