Registered Nurse (RN) I - Ortho Spine - Full Time - Nights at Norman Regional Health System summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) I position in the Ortho Spine unit involves providing high-quality nursing care to orthopedic patients, including those undergoing hip and knee replacement surgeries. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, planning and implementing care strategies, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring patient safety. Candidates must hold a current RN license and have experience in the healthcare field, with a preference for those with a BSN or higher degree in nursing.

Overview:

Compensation/Benefits

  • $27.84-$45.46/hr. depending on previous work experience.
  • $2.50/hr. evening differential
  • $3.00/hr. night differential
  • $3.00/hr. weekend differential

Ortho/Spine is a 32 bed unit specializing in orthopedic patients. We have disease specific certification from the Joint Commission in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement and Hip Fx patients which deems us a center of excellence. We also care for Total Shoulder and Ankle patients as well as other fractures. We also care for low level cardiac patients and some med-surg patients.

Responsibilities:

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data
  • establishing goals, planning care strategy, establishing priorities of care, implementing care
  • delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, evaluating responses to interventions
  • performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
Qualifications:

Education 

  • Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience 

  • Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

 

Licensure/Certification 

  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license. 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
