About the Job
The EI Group is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Safety & Compliance Specialist to support our clients’ initiatives to conform with applicable EHS policies, procedures and OSHA standards. We have an immediate opening for an individual with an industrial safety background able to work independently and in multi-disciplinary environments. The ideal candidate will also be capable of delivering site-specific compliance training based on OSHA standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing on-site safety inspections, and compliance assessments for diverse commercial/industrial manufacturing clients across the nation. The safety professional will work with senior staff to develop final deliverables to include recommendations for corrective actions and compliance in conformance with the hierarchy of safety controls.
Required Qualifications
Experience should include awareness of a significant portion of the following topics:
- Job Hazard Analysis/Job Safety Analysis (JHA/JSA)
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Hazard Communication
- Machine Guarding
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Fall Protection
- Fire Safety
- Emergency Action Plans
- Confined Spaces
- Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklifts)
- Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), including Aerial Lifts/Scissor Lifts
- Ergonomics
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret OSHA standards and client-specific internal policies
- Ability to think critically and analyze complex problems
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated reporting and editing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach OSHA 10/30 for General Industry and/or Construction.
Additional Details
- Travel Required: a mix of local and regional project work, short duration overnights
- (3-4 days away from home, and possibly full weeks on location) approximately 66% - 75% of time
