Senior Vendor Laboratory Manager
Location: San Rafael, CA (hybrid)
Pay Rate: $55-$68/hour
12-month assignment (potential to extend)
The Senior Vendor Laboratory Manager (SVLM) is a critical member of the Clinical Laboratory & Biospecimen Management (CLBM) team within Strategic Research and Development Operations (SRDO) at BioMarin. This role focuses on study maintenance, close-out, and ensuring biospecimen and lab vendor operations are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee biospecimen operations for assigned programs.
- Lead study close-out activities, ensuring all deliverables are completed per timelines.
- Support vendor selection, contract modeling, and start-up timelines.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, assay requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct financial oversight, including invoice reviews and budget tracking.
- Resolve operational issues and address regulatory inquiries related to biospecimen management.
- Mentor staff and contribute to cross-functional team discussions.
- Act as a steward for research requests, ensuring biospecimen integrity and compliance.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 7+ years of project management and/or clinical operations experience.
- Strong understanding of biospecimen lifecycle management and vendor oversight.
- Proficiency in regulatory compliance and informed consent requirements.
- Ability to manage complex clinical protocols and competing priorities.
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional team leadership skills.
- Background in biomarker discovery or related scientific fields.
- Strategic and operational problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with financial oversight, including forecasts and accruals.
