Title: Women's Health Nurse ManagerDepartment: Women's Health (OB/Gyn)Reports to: Director of Nursing, Director of Women's HealthThe Women’s Health Nurse Manager reports to the Director of Nursing. The WH Nurse Manager will oversee all nursing functions within the Women’s Health Department, including recruitment, training, staffing and ongoing clinical education of nursing staff (nurses and medical assistants). The WH Nurse Manager will also serve clinically as a nurse in the department.Responsibilities To Include But Are Not Limited ToWorks with Medical Director of Women’s Health, Director of Nursing and Women’s Health Program Manager to achieve quality of care and operational goals of the Women’s Health DepartmentLeads recruitment, retention, and training of Women’s Health nursing staff and medical assistant staff Ensures all new hire Women’s Health nurses and support staff are properly oriented and trainedEnsures clinical competency of the Women’s Health nursing and support staffSets clinical and behavioral expectations for Women’s Health nursing staff and models these qualitiesEducates Women’s Health nursing and support staff as new policies or clinical protocols are developedIdentifies opportunities for nursing staff to help improve the care delivered in the Women’s Health Department Works with Medical Director of Women’s Health and QA/QI Nurse to lead Quality Improvement (QI) projects and chart review for Nursing QI purposesWorks with QA/QI Nurse to assure nursing staff meet all regulatory and patient care standards; identifies and addresses any quality-assurance and compliance issuesResponsible for developing and maintaining written Women’s Health nursing protocols (e.g. Nursing Visits, Infection Control, Training Protocols, etc.)Serves as a clinical nurse in the Women’s Health Department (see OB/GYN Registered Nurse job description)Performs other duties as requested by leadership team.Potentially, may provide one full day of direct patient care per week.BenefitsComprehensive Medical Package: Medical, Dental, Vision InsuranceShort & Long Term DisabilityAbove market and competitive salariesEmployee Assistance and Work-Life ProgramEmployee Referral Bonus ProgramHRSA and Public Service Loan ForgivenessGenerous paid time off401(k) with match up to 5 percentNine (9) Paid HolidaysRequirementsBachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher from an accredited nursing school. Must have a valid CT Registered Nurse license. Current BLS required.Must have 3-5 years of nursing experience with 1-3 years of proven experience in a leadership role.The Women’s Health Nurse Manger will need experience in an OB/GYN clinical nursing setting, and as a manager or supervisor. The WH Nurse Manager must be able to take on a clinical educator role and serve as a resource to support staff at all levels. Organization, flexibility, and effective communication skills are critical. The Nurse Manager should be able to interact effectively with all levels of staff, and to create around him or herself a collaborative and supportive team atmosphere.The WH Nurse Manager will identify and initiate departmental process improvements and set pertinent clinical goals for nursing staff.The job requires exposure working with body fluid and hazardous chemicals. When under these working conditions, OSHA standards and universal precautions must be followed at all times.
