Employment Type:nnPart timennShift:nnDay ShiftnnDescription:nnPosition Summary:nnProvide evaluation and treatment for patients on inpatient rehab unit. Participate in all aspects of their care including compliance and regulatory requirements, attending team conferences, completing family/care partner training, making recommendations for DME upon discharge, work with team to facilitate successful discharge to community setting. Weekends/holidays required on rotating basis. Occasional work on acute care unit may be required based on census/staffing. Prefer candidate with experience working with SCI and TBI population.nnEssential Functions and Responsibilities:nnProvides quality patient care by considering the age specific, development and cultural needs through competent clinical practice. Demonstrates unit/area competencies.nnIdentifies and assists in resolution of problems related to safety, sanitation and maintenance of the environment.nnPractices effective communication in all interactions (patient, visitor, co-worker, etc.)nnPromotes a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork.nnOrients patients and families to the therapeutic purposes and procedures of Occupational Therapy.nnInstructs patients and families in individualized home programs.nnParticipates in departmental quality assurance and improvement activities.nnProvides for his/her own professional growth and education and contributes to staff development activities.nnSupervises Occupational Therapy fieldwork students as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator or Student Program Coordinator.nnStays up to date on all participating insurance guidelines for rehabilitation services.nnProvides thorough documentation on each patient interaction. Documentation must be timely and include all pertinent information required by state law, accrediting agencies and 3rd party payers.nnCompletes daily charges for each patient while adhering to ethical practices per insurance guidelines for each payer.nnWorks with site leader and secretarial staff to ensure schedules are managed well to achieve targeted productivity and clinic budget.nnParticipates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.nnOther Functions and Responsibilities:nnPerforms other duties as assigned.nnRequired Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure:nnBachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from accredited university and licensure in the State of Michigan. Certification with the NBCOT preferred .
