Enthusiasm: We will work passionately to make a difference.nnWhat you will do:nnPleasantly greets patients, introduce yourself, confirm patient identification, and explains procedure in a manner that is understood.nnAble to utilize the hospital computer systems (HIS/RIS/PACS) to retrieve information, export images to appropriate and valid destinations, review images, retrieve archived studies, verify data, perform order entry, and record information following completion of exam.nnReceives order request checking for special instructions, and consults with Radiologists as needed.nnPrepare room, equipment, and imaging materials as needed for patients.nnPrepare patient for CT procedure by having patient gown appropriately as needed.nnPerform post processing of data, specifically multi-planar reformatting and 3D rendering on orthopedic and vascular cases.nnAppropriately cleans and disinfects CT suites, work area, and equipment. Maintains stock supplies for assigned rooms.nnPositions patient and plans imaging study. Ability to adapt imaging plans per patient encounter when patient is unable to cooperate or comply.nnAssists patient at end of procedures, appropriately ending encounter by making sure patient is taken to room, ED, or other unit. If an outpatient he or she is shown out of imaging and/or to other testing locations.nnStarts IV’s for contrast studies. Prepares various contrast media for CT study.nnChecks patient history for prior studies as is pertinent to the current studynnCoordinates scheduling, transportation, and scanning of patients with the activities of the CT suites.nnSelects and operates equipment appropriately and/or per manufacturer and industry guidelines. Follows prescribed techniques in administering scans. Adjusts equipment settings; determines proper exposure parameters selecting proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.nnObserves patient and machine during procedure and reports unusual occurrences.nnPerforms a patient assessment as appropriate for the imaging procedure to assist Radiologist during their interpretation.nnPerforms general maintenance on equipment and daily/weekly technologist QC. Reports to manufacturer any errors in test results.nnAvailable for emergency cases on a rotational basis.nnKnowledge of the needs of patients according to their age group and the ability to modify care according to patient’s age. Technologist will most frequently care for adults and geriatric patients; and, on occasion, adolescents, children, infants, and neonates.nnLifts, moves, and transports patients via wheelchair or cart and onto imaging table. Transports patient from patient room, Surgery Center, ED, and other patient care areas. Returns patient to room or other patient care area when imaging is completed.nnWhat you will need:nnGraduate of formal radiologic technology training program in an approved school.nnARRT (R) (CT) required. ARRT (CT) preferred. ODH license in radiography required.nnMust be currently certified in CPR, and be recertified bi-annually.nnWeekend, call, and holiday rotation required. Position may rotate between CT and X-Ray.nnAbility to work in an environment that is fast-paced requiring multi-tasking.nnUses proper body mechanics. Ability to push, pull and/or lift patient from carts, wheelchairs, or other transport devices, onto imaging table/couch.nnComplies with all Service Excellence, Quality, and customer satisfaction initiatives.nnAbility to read and write small letters and numbers.nnAbility to maintain neat and orderly files and records.nnAbility to communicate and understand oral and written communication.nnAbility to communicate effectively with management, physicians, co workers, patients and students.nnPunctual attendance at assigned work location is required.nnAbility to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Medical Center emergency codes.nnAbility to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment.
