The caregivers at Euclid Hospital have made it not only an excellent medical facility, but also a home away from home.nnRadiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient.nnA caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 3:00pm - 11:30pm.nnA caregiver who excels in this role will:nnPerform radiology exams and fluoroscopic procedures on patients of all ages.nnPerform ED/surgical procedures (trauma cases, fluoroscopic exams to include vascular, general medicine, ortho, cardiac, GI, GU, neuro, pediatrics, and general procedures) in a sterile environment.nnProduce images of optimal quality for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.nnProvide verbal and written instructions to patients and families on procedures as needed.nnAssist in scheduling patients.nnMonitor and determine priority of patients.nnEnsure patients' safety and comfort during and after the exam.nnDemonstrate the care and operation of radiography equipment according to technical specifications and applications.nnAssist Radiologists, physicians and surgeons with procedures.nnHave knowledge of acquiring, archiving, transmitting, and printing images via PACS.nnHave knowledge of billing via RIS.nnMaintain documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately.nnProvide instruction/mentoring to new hires and radiology students.nnContinually strive to learn new technical information and skills through attending periodic in-service programs and participating in professional affiliation sessions.nnRotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities and locations as needed.nnMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnGraduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.nnRegistered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing.nnCurrent state licensure as a Radiology Technologist.nnBasic Life Support certification.nnKnowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes.nnPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnOne year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.nnOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
