This patient-friendly facility offers a variety of primary care, emergency care and specialty services along with Lifestyles, a medically based fitness program and facility.nnComputed tomography (CT) technologists use computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. A CT scan technologist must be able to accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.nnA caregiver in this position primarily works Monday - Friday from 10:30AM - 7:00PM.nnA caregiver who excels in this role will:nnPerform computerized tomography procedures to aid in diagnosing disease or injury.nnPrepare/educate patients for CT exams.nnAssess patient's clinical history.nnAdjust techniques and protocols on equipment to correspond to patient habitus and pathology.nnResearch lab values for patient and inject contrast under the direction of Radiologist as required (bolus or power injectors).nnPerform exams and transfer results from the CT console to Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS).nnObserve patients constantly and respond to any adverse reactions to ensure safety.nnWork with referring physicians to ensure the correct exam is ordered and performed for the patient.nnOversee maintenance of equipment to ensure full calibration and complete functioning.nnKeep abreast of new developments in field by attending appropriate meetings/seminars and reviewing current literature to maintain required state of Ohio and AART continuing education credits.nnProficiently transfer to other modalities as qualified and/or needed, utilizing proper exam protocols and injection procedures.nnComply with Radiology Information System and PACS entry requirements for accurate patient, film, and supply tracking monitors.nnComplete mandatory education and training to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements.nnMaintains applicable certification, licensure and registration.nnAssist and support the Radiologic student program by providing supervision and feedback to students as they perform procedures, reviewing images with students and providing quarterly evaluations.nnMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnCompletion of an accredited radiologic technology program.nnCurrent certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists.nnCurrent license by the State of Ohio as a Radiologic Technologist.nnRequired within 18 months of hire/transfer: registration in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certification.nnPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnOne year of CT experience.nnTwo years of experience in diagnostic radiology in order to be eligible for on-site training in CT scanning.nnOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
