Job Title: CT Tech - HospitalnnUnit: CT TechnnShift: 8:30a-9p, Wed-Thurs-FrinnFacility: AMCnnIndependently performs computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the CT scanner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.nnEssential Duties & Functions:nnPerforms CT procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates CT studies for technical image quality.nnObtains clinical history and data for correlation with the CT procedure.nnImplements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed CT policies / procedures. Performs daily and weekly QC as required.nnPrepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practices sterile techniques.nnAssists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.nnCoordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfactionnnAssesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs.
