Gouverneur Hospital is certified for 25 beds and services include inpatient detox, substance use disorder rehabilitation, emergency care, imaging and EKG's, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy.nSTATUS: Full TimenLOCATION: Gouverneur HospitalnDEPARTMENT: Rehab ServicesnSCHEDULE: 8hr shiftsnATTRIBUTESnnRequired: Master's Degree in Physical TherapynPreferred: DPT, or PhD P.T.nRequired: active and clear NYS PT license or temporary permit following NYS Practice Act guidelines, BLS (current or scheduled)nnRESPONSIBILITIESnnMaintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.nEvaluates patient upon initial encounter to assess impairment and current condition to estimate rehabilitation potential.nPlans physical therapy treatment program for each patient including training in functional mobility, use of assistive devices, therapeutic exercise, balance and coordination retraining, massage, heat, and cryotherapy.nApplies diagnostic and progressive muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests.nDirects and aids patient in therapeutic regimen, delegating routine care to supportive personnel as appropriate. Acts in supervisory role to ensure proper execution of tasks.nAdapts conventional physical therapy techniques to meet the needs of patients as necessary.nConducts and participates in training medical and nursing personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives.nEvaluates, records, and reports on patient progress for review by other members of the rehabilitation team. Communicates effectively with physician, other members of the rehabilitative team, and others indicated regarding treatment plan and patient's response.nCounsels patient and family according to degree of disability or impairment.nPerforms other duties as assigned. Lead Responsibilities:nTrains, mentors, and coaches team members to ensure standards of the department are being met.nAddresses scheduling needs to ensure proper coverage is provided.nIdentifies and leads process improvement initiatives to improve compliance and create efficient and effective workflows.nWorks collaboratively with other departments throughout the System to ensure the department's needs are being met and goals are aligned.nSteps in for manager during absences.nnPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.nPAY RANGE: $39.00 - $52.00nThe listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
