Radiology Technologists may go on to specialize in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine.nnA caregiver in this position works variable days and hours.nnA caregiver who excels in this role will:nnAdjust and control complex electronic equipment in applying ionizing radiation for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.nnPrepare and position patients prior to procedures to ensure their safety and to obtain desired reports for diagnostic purposes.nnCalculate and select appropriate equipment and technical factors such as proper type of film and number of kilovolts or milliamperes.nnMaintain working condition of all equipment and report any malfunctions or needs for adjustments to appropriate personnel.nnAssist in maintaining sanitary condition of radiology area.nnComply with all Radiology information system entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply, tracking monitors.nnAssist and support the Radiologic student program, specifically the clinical aspect.nnComplete mandatory education and training to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirementsnnMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnCompletion of Radiologic Technology programs from approved school.nnRegistered Radiographer (R) with American Registry of Radiology Technologists.nnCurrent Radiology state license.nnBasic Life Support from American Heart Association.nnPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnOne year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.nnOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
