Here, you will work with and learn from some of our best caregivers, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.nnComputed tomography (CT) technologists use computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. A CT scan technologist must be able to accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.nnA caregiver in this position works every Saturday and Sunday: 7pm - 7:30amnnA caregiver who excels in this role will:nnPerform computerized axial tomography (CT) procedures.nnObtain patient history and clinical data for correlation with exams.nnScan all required paperwork into the RIS system.nnCompile exams for reading by radiologist.nnCritique exams for film quality and proper identification.nnDocument reasons for any variation in procedures.nnAssist patients, explain exams and communicate with patients throughout exams.nnComply with OSHA and hospital infection control policies.nnRespond to calls on various shifts.nnKeep the manager informed of equipment/safety problems.nnIdentify, transport, lift and position patients for exams.nnPerform duties of a radiologic technologist as required and qualified.nnExercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures and patient care.nnCommunicate with the referring physician.nnEvaluate patients for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills and physiological norms.nnAssess patients for signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect and report findings to a radiologist or staff physician.nnFollow safe radiation practices in selection of radiographic techniques and protective shielding to self and patient.nnPerform receptionist functions, clerical duties and film filing and purging.nnControl inventory, purchase and stock supplies and maintain cleanliness of rooms.nnPerform quality assurance duties as assigned. Complete mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements.nnObtain certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in computer tomography within 24 months of appointment.nnMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnGraduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.nnRegistered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (R).nnCurrent radiology license in the State of Ohio.nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).nnLicensed in diagnostic radiology with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in order to be eligible for onsite training in CT scanning.nnOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
