JOB SUMMARYnnThe Occupational Therapist PRN plans, organizes, and provides professional services in restorative, functional and preventative therapeutic programs to patients. Clinical practice includes evaluation and occupational therapy treatment planning to facilitate rehabilitation of the mental, physical or emotional disabled person. Works closely with patients and family to establish and meet treatment goals.nnESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLEnnEvaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals.nnPerforms thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately.nnCommunicates effectively with patients and families, departmental coworkers, and members of the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family and staff.nnSupervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers.nnAdvances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice.nnImparts knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines.nnMaintains awareness of system goals.
