The UW Health Neurodiagnostic Technologist I is a multi-skilled allied health professional who may perform diagnostic testing procedures including, but not limited to, electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), nerve conduction studies (Company),long-term monitoring for epilepsy (LTM), and intensive care unit and continuous EEG monitoring (ICU/EEG). This work is performed under the direct supervision of senior staff and a physician who is responsible for interpretation and clinical correlation of the results. This physician may not be physically present during the procedures and so the technologist must be able to analyze data during the recording, making certain that the information being obtained is valid and interpretable. A relevant patient history obtained by the technologist guides to some degree how the test will be conducted; therefore, he/she must be knowledgeable in clinical neurology. This employee will work in a variety of settings. Studies may be performed in an outpatient laboratory, emergency room, operating room, intensive care unit, special monitoring units or at the patient's bedside

Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in traveler's profile including resume, *** portal, and all onboarding disclosures/questionnaires).
Experience:
Two years combination of training and experience as a practicing clinical Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist OR
Five years combination of training and experience as a practicing clinical Seizure Monitor Technician or performing similar work
Pediatric Experience required
Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
Prior traveler experience highly preferred
Licensure and Certification:
BLS - must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY
Education:
Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program OR
Credential in electroencephalography (R. EEG.T) with at least 2 years of EEG experience OR
Two years combination of training and experience performing IONM procedures
References
Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work experience in the last two years).
Floating
Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
