Our customer, led by the Commander, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), applies subject matter expertise and best practices to translate mission and operational requirements into solutions and operational capabilities.nnYour greatest work is ahead!nnIn this SME role, you will support the NEC Mission Engineering Analysis team to conduct mission engineering studies to guide decisions focused on the end-to-end mission, to identify new or enhanced capabilities, and provide impacts of performance levels on NC3 system of systems. Working with our customer at their office at Fort Meade, you'll have the opportunity to use your skills to help tackle some of the biggest challenges faced by our nation's leaders.nnWhat will your responsibilities involve?nnApply system engineering expertise to the evaluation of current capabilities and technological opportunities with the goal of enhancing and upgrading NC3 systems and sub-systems.nnProduce Engineering analysis reports that recommends to SE&I logical next steps of action based on documented gaps, studies, roadmaps, plans and solution sets.nnAssess NC3 systems and sub-component’s ability meet the mission requirements and operate as designed through mission engineering studies.nnAdvise and assist the Government in the development of a transition plan for the implementation of mission engineering study recommendations.nnSupport vulnerability analysis of the NC3 architecture and a variety of assessments (i.e., threat assessment, performance assessment, capability assessments, platform assessment and cyber threat assessments) of the NC3 Systems.nnProvide subject matter expertise regarding terrestrial and space-based communication systems/technologies to government and contractor team members, and stakeholders.nnAssist other team members and stakeholders in identifying technical and threat-driven NC3 risks and mitigation strategies.nnPeriodically provide training support through briefings and lectures to NEC personnel on the various effects of nuclear weapons on communication systems.nnBasic QualificationsnnActive Top Secret clearance with immediate SCI read-in eligibility.nnMaster’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 10+ years’ experience.nnTen (10) years’ experience in the following areas:nnDemonstrating high-level subject matter expertise for the primary responsibilities described herein.nnPerforming advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments.nnPerforming high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and training.nnProviding Implementation advice on complex problems for effective implementation.nnApplying principles, methods, and knowledge of specific functional areas of expertise.nnProviding advice on esoteric problems which require extensive knowledge of the subject matter.nnDesigning and preparing technical reports, studies, and related documentation, making charts and graphs to record results, preparing and delivering presentations, training, and briefings.nnDemonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.nnPreferred QualificationsnnUnderstanding of, and experience, with operations and technical characteristics of Nuclear C3 systems to include strategic communications systems, sensor and radar systems, and communications systems deployed at nuclear command centers and on nuclear capable platforms.nnPrior work with Nuclear C3 community stakeholders such as Air Force, Navy, NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC), USSTRATCOM, USCYBERCOM, the Joint Staff, and OSD.nnOriginal Posting Date:nn2024-11-25nnWhile subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.nnPay Range:nnPay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00nnThe Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
