The unit plays a critical role in creating and maintaining precise mapping and geospatial data that supports engineering design, infrastructure development, and project planning for the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). Utilizing cutting-edge tools like Bentley MicroStation and ArcGIS, the team develops high-quality maps, analyzes aerial imagery, and performs data validation to ensure accurate and reliable geospatial information. The unit also manages and updates NCDOT's extensive geospatial data holdings, provides visual quality assurance for critical projects, and collaborates with engineers to produce vicinity maps and other essential geospatial products. With its expertise in geomatics and photogrammetry, the team is instrumental in enabling efficient, data-driven decision-making across the department's transportation initiatives.nnThe Technical Services/Photogrammetry Unit is seeking two motivated interns to assist with geospatial data organization, analysis, and mapping tasks essential to North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) projects.
