This is a full-time 12 month position with benefits.nnGLENWOOD COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICTnnPAYROLL & BENEFITS ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTnnCLASSIFIED STAFF JOB DESCRIPTIONnnPosition: Payroll & Benefits Administrative AssistantnnQualifications:nnHigh school diploma required: associate degree preferred.nnKnowledge of basic computer word processing, spreadsheet & bookkeeping.nnAbility to apply public relations skills effectively.nnUtilize oral and written channels of communication effectively.nnReports To: Chief Financial OfficernnConsults With: Superintendent, Administrators, Central Office Personnel, & district wide staffnnPosition Goal: To complete detailed work and to coordinate other matters essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the district officennPerformance Responsibilities:nnAssist with comprehensive payroll processing twice per month – 11th and 25th.nnEnsures timely and accurate filing of payroll tax deposits with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Iowa Department of RevenuennAssists with preparation & submission of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including but not limited to IRS 941s, Unemployment, Medicaid, BLS, and others as needed.nnProcesses required cash receipts and journal entries for payroll monthly.nnAdds new employees & inactivates terminating employees to software applications including Software Unlimited Payroll, TMS, & Frontline.nnServes as subject matter expert for the TMS time management system.nnAdministers accurate employee leave benefits using TMS and Frontline.nnAssists in administration of Absence Management using the Frontline HR system.nnAdministers payroll processing of employee retirement benefits for IPERS & 403 b plan.nnAdministers payroll processing of employee insurance benefit deductions including health, dental, vision life, long term disability and flexible spending accounts.nnServes as onboarding, enrollment, and offboarding lead for all benefits including: health insurance, dental insurance, vision, critical illness & accident policies, flexible spending (FSA), and life insurance for all employees.nnServes as district point of contact for policy and benefit inquiries for all employees.nnAssists with ensuring accuracy of annual contracted compensation and hourly pay ratesnnAnnual preparation and distribution of W-2’s, 1095’s and other required tax reporting.nnCompletes verification of employment reports as needed.nnAnswers telephone calls & emails providing customer service to employees & retirees.nnPerforms other duties as assigned.nnTerms of Employment: Twelve-month position.nnSalary shall be subject to annual review and modification by the Glenwood Board of Education.nnEvaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board’s policy on Classified Staff Evaluation.
