The information contained in a data warehouse can include data such as application log files and transaction applications. These tools are useful to analysts because they consolidate large datasets from many sources. Often called a “single source of truth,” a data warehouse allows a company to improve decision making based on historical insights over time. The data analyst serves as a gatekeeper for an organization’s data so stakeholders can understand data and use it to make strategic business decisions.nnWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing large datasets to provide insights and support decision-making within the organization. You will also be responsible for creating reports and visualizations to communicate your findings to various stakeholders.nnJob Summary:nnThe Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing DLA Spills data systems and reporting frameworks, guaranteeing the integrity and precision of data. The ideal candidate will transform raw data into structured information, which will then be analyzed to glean insights that drive strategic business decisions. This position encompasses a comprehensive analysis lifecycle, covering requirement gathering, activity execution, and design planning. Data analysts are tasked with enhancing analytical and reporting functions, as well as supervising performance and quality assurance processes to pinpoint areas for enhancement. A data analyst systematically collects, processes, and performs statistical analyses on data sets.nnTheir responsibilities include:nnData Cleaning and Preparation: This involves filtering the data, handling missing values, and preparing the dataset for analysis to ensure accuracy and relevance.nnData Exploration and Analysis: Analysts use statistical tools and techniques to explore and analyze data, identifying patterns, relationships, and trends.nnData Visualization: They create visual representations of data findings through charts, graphs, and dashboards to make the data understandable at a glance.nnReporting: Data analysts prepare reports and presentations to communicate the insights and findings from the data to stakeholders, which can influence policy and decision-making processes.nnCollaboration: They often work with other departments to understand their data needs and help them make informed decisions based on data insights.nnDuties and Responsibilities:nnGather data from primary and secondary sources, ensuring the upkeep of databases and data systems.nnDetect, examine, and decode trends or patterns within intricate datasets.nnCleanse data and scrutinize computer-generated reports and outputs to identify and rectify coding errors.nnCoordinate with management to align business and informational priorities.nnIdentify opportunities for process enhancements.nnEmploy statistical techniques to scrutinize data and produce actionable business insights.nnCollaborate with the management team to determine and rank the needs of different business units.nnDevelop data dashboards, charts, and visual aids to support decision-making across departments.nnConvey insights through both reports and visual presentations.nnPartner with engineering and product development teams to understand business requirements.nnEngage with managers from various departments to specify data requirements for analysis projects tailored to their unique business processes.nnMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSnnPossess a solid foundation in statistics and practical experience with statistical software (such as Excel, SPSS, SAS) and mastery in data analysis languages including SQL, Python, and R.nnExhibit exceptional analytical abilities to compile, structure, examine, and present substantial data sets with precision and thoroughness.nnCapable of critically evaluating data to derive meaningful, actionable insights.nnDemonstrate superior communication and presentation capabilities, adept at simplifying complex data insights for audiences without a technical background.nnPrior experience in data analysis or a related field being advantageous.nnAdditional RequirementsnnAdept at report writing and presenting findings.nnAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.nnA deep understanding of the industry and business operations is a plusnn2+ years of experience as a data analyst or related role.
