To find out more visit , and read about the latest news via ourStoryHub ( .nnDescription and RequirementsnnAs a Workstation Performance Engineer, you are responsible for performance analysis on our ThinkStation and Thinkpad P-series workstation products. You will be responsible for analyzing CPU, memory, GPU, storage (including RAID), battery life (for mobile products) as well as identifying any performance related issues. You will work with development teams to resolve any performance related issues. For new products that are entering production, you will be responsible for testing, verifying, and documenting performance in comparison to prior generation products as well as performance differences within those products (such as CPU and GPU SKU differences).nnResponsibilities:nnAnalyze and review benchmark results with an eye towards an in-depth understanding of what the results mean, and when the results may be incorrect, or are indicating performance issues related to hardware, thermal, power, and/or software/driver/firmware issuesnnDevelop and execute performance test plansnnBuild up systems and swap hardware (CPUs, GPUs, memory, and storage devices) as needed. Install OS’s, drivers, BIOS, and firmware updatesnnInstall and run various benchmarks and analyze and validate resultsnnPut together and present data in an understandable way that our sales team and customers can easily understand and interpretnnRun performance analysis against competitive products to identify and understand how we comparennBasic Quali fi cationsnnBS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar fieldnn8+ years relevant experience (areas of computer design, performance, or related)nnExperience in computer architecturennExperience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems, BIOS, device driversnnPreferred Quali fi cationsnnBackground in coding is preferred, such as python, Java script, etc.nnKnowledge in the area of artificial intelligence is a plus.nnBackground in simulation applications is also a plus (Comsol, Ansys, Fluent, Simulia, etc)nnUnderstanding different workstation software applications and workflows and how they use hardware resources is a plusnnStrong problem-solving skillsnnSelf-starter that can deal with ambiguity and set a directionnnAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamnnEagerness to learn new concepts and take on new challengesnnExcellent written and verbal communication skillsnnCustomer first attitude requirednnWillingness to be flexible and change depending on the needs of the businessnnThis position will be based in our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Our office has transitioned to a hybrid work environment supporting 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
