Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire (project work will go through July 2026)

Pay Rate: $30-32/hr

Start Date: mid January 2025

Candidate Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience performing laboratory functions including the tasks listed below (experience as an undergraduate or graduate student may be considered).

• Proficiency in handling and pipetting fluids

• Knowledge of basic lab safety protocols

• Familiarity with required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and its proper use.

• Experience using a biosafety cabinet .

• Ability to be respirator trained and fit-tested

Day-to-Day:

Our client is seeking laboratory technicians to support a project at the UC Davis, Tulare Campus. Selected candidates will be working as bench lab technician related to sample preparation. The lab technician will perform the following tasks:

a. Receive samples from State personnel.

b. Aliquot samples from original sample tubes into smaller sample tubes.

c. Seal sample tubes.

d. Proper storage and handling of samples.

e. Place printed barcode labels on sample tubes.

f. Package samples for shipment by FedEx or a courier, in accordance with DOT and other applicable requirements.

The lab technician will operate within a biosafety cabinet and demonstrate safe and efficient lab practices at all times. The lab technician will also dispose of samples when directed to do so by the client. Lab Technicians will be trained in the above procedures
