The Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) Neuroscience multidisciplinary clinic, located in the Hale Building for Transformative Medicine, is home to Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Orthopedics, Radiology, and a large research footprint. The Neurosciences Clinic encompasses Neurosurgery, Neurology, Psychiatry, and Pain Medicine, handling over 65,000 annual visits, both in-person and virtual.
The Practice Manager oversees clinical operations, human resources, budget management, and process flow, ensuring quality services for patients and the hospital. Responsibilities include resolving clinical issues, collaborating with other managers, and ensuring efficient operations. They also work with leadership and Medical Directors to develop, document, and implement policies to optimize patient and staff experiences.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Practice Operations
- Oversee daily operations and ensure adequate staffing and organization.
- Implement standard operating procedures and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate provider schedules and improve appointment systems.
Access
- Ensure patient scheduling aligns with Ambulatory Care Transformation (ACT) goals.
- Monitor patient satisfaction, resolve issues, and improve privacy protections.
- Ensure staff training, proficiency, and ongoing skills development.
- Participate in budgeting and monitor clinical financial performance.
- Address billing and coding issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with BWH, DPH, and TJC standards.
- Monitor clinic environment and coordinate improvements.
- Recruit, hire, and retain qualified staff.
- Implement onboarding and address personnel matters.
- Collaborate with Medical Directors and administrators to achieve goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 4-6 years of related healthcare experience.
- Strong communication skills with knowledge of business and medical terminology.
