In this role, you will enhance and support the GIS and Forest Management System (FMS) capabilities for our US and Canada Timberlands Forest Management operations. As an Application Services Developer/Analyst, you will have a customer-focused, analytical approach while working with your business partners and IT teammates. This includes following IT standards and processes for incident management, problem resolution, and change implementation. Building strong relationships with your business partners and understanding the importance of delivering data and process standards across vendor-provided and custom-developed systems will be critical.
This is an exciting and unique role that combines working daily with customers on solutions, business process improvements, and the opportunity to gain deep knowledge of the technology and business domains of Weyerhaeuser Timberlands. In addition, there will be opportunities to collaborate across teams within Weyerhaeuser.
The team you will work with:
This position will provide support across our Timberlands operations and includes key participation in our FMS Next Gen project, which is part of a multi-year program to transfigure our GIS systems within Weyerhaeuser. You will be joining a dynamic IT Product team made up of a diverse group of individuals with unique backgrounds, experience, and skills. Collaborating with your team and supporting one another will be core to your day-to-day role.
Key Responsibilities:
- User Support: Provide comprehensive support to FMS and GIS users, ensuring the accuracy and maintenance of spatial data and imagery.
- Issue Resolution: Tier 3 support to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of FMS and GIS-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Data Management: Oversee location-based data management, including incident/problem resolution and change implementation.
- Tool Development: Develop and implement mobile tools for foresters using Survey123, Field Maps, and Arcade scripting to enhance field operations.
- Database Administration: Support, deploy, and administer spatially enabled enterprise geodatabases using ESRI's ArcGIS Server and native spatial data types, with a focus on Python and Microsoft SQL Server in collaboration with Senior Developers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior GIS developers, IT engineers, and IT architects to ensure seamless integration of GIS solutions with the broader IT infrastructure.
Qualifications - Two or more years of relevant IT experiencein project, infrastructure, or applications support.
- Relevant experience, education, training and/or a degree in computer science, information systems and/or experience in Business functional related fields of forestry or natural resources.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience in incident resolution.
- Functional understanding of geodatabase design and spatial relationships
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL server / T-SQL scripting.
- Proficiency in ESRI's ArcGIS Software and spatial data management.
- Expertise in Python scripting in ArcGIS.
- Experience in developing mobile GIS tools and applications.
What We Offer: Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $79,300 - $119,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with paid vacation for up to 3 weeks to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 hours along with paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
