Job Description: Are you a second-year Imaging or Radiology student looking to get hands-on experience while maintaining a flexible schedule? Come join us at UPMC Mercy \n UPMC Mercy is seeking casual Imaging Services Student Techs to join their MRI and CT teams \n The Imaging Services Student Techs will be able to work a flexible, rotating schedule to accommodate their school schedule There is a minimum requirement of three shifts per month, with two weekend shifts per month. Weekends will rotate every other weekend, with no holidays or on-call required \n The Imaging Services Student Tech may perform imaging procedures at a technical level under the supervision of a Registered Technologist, incorporating learning and education with the performance of tasks to assist the Technologist in their responsibilities. \n \n Responsibilities:\n\nDepending on modality, may utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data and complete procedures according to protocol under the supervision of a Radiologist or Technologist.\nMay perform daily equipment inspections, warm up procedures, and follow Quality Control Program under supervision of a Technologist.\nAssist Radiologist and Technologist setting up contrast, however, will never be responsible for loading or priming the injector.\nObtain quality images while following radiation safety standards and protocols.\nAssist with positioning and performing exams, but should never hold the detector or patients for Radiation procedures.\nArrive patients, track exams, scan scripts, and schedule exams in the Radiology Information Systems.\nAssist Radiologist and Technologist in performing modality specific exams.\nMaintain clinical proficiency for all completed competencies and equipment skills.\n\nMust be an active 2nd year student in ARRT, ARDMS, CNMT, or NMCTB approved school.\n\n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:\n\nBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)\nAct 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal\nAct 33 with renewal\nAct 34 with renewal\nAct 73 FBI Clearance with renewal\n\n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
