Registered Nurse (RN) I - Ortho Spine - Full Time - Nights at Norman Regional Health System summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) I for Ortho Spine unit provides specialized care for orthopedic patients, ensuring collaboration with health professionals and implementation of tailored nursing strategies. With a focus on disease-specific certifications such as Hip and Knee Replacement, the RN is responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care and safety while supporting both clinical and administrative functions within the healthcare team. The position requires a nursing degree, relevant licensure, and a commitment to continuous professional development in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Overview:

Compensation/Benefits

  • $27.84-$45.46/hr. depending on previous work experience.
  • $2.50/hr. evening differential
  • $3.00/hr. night differential
  • $3.00/hr. weekend differential

Ortho/Spine is a 32 bed unit specializing in orthopedic patients. We have disease specific certification from the Joint Commission in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement and Hip Fx patients which deems us a center of excellence. We also care for Total Shoulder and Ankle patients as well as other fractures. We also care for low level cardiac patients and some med-surg patients.

Responsibilities:

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data
  • establishing goals, planning care strategy, establishing priorities of care, implementing care
  • delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, evaluating responses to interventions
  • performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
Qualifications:

Education 

  • Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience 

  • Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

 

Licensure/Certification 

  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license. 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
