Field Automation Technician
Join our team as an Automation Field Service Technician and support cutting-edge seed treatment equipment we design and manufacture! This role offers hands-on experience with extensive travel, competitive compensation, and a collaborative environment.
Role Breakdown
- Travel: Approximately 90%, primarily Midwest via car with some domestic air travel. Typical trips are weeklong and overnight. Normally, weekend travel may be required, but this will be talked about in advance. All travel is reimbursed.
- Hybrid Schedule: First 6 months: Full-time in-office for training.
- Post-training: 2–3 days in-office weekly when not traveling.
- Compensation: Overtime opportunities available during travel.
What You’ll Do
- Install, troubleshoot, and calibrate automated seed treatment systems at customer sites.
- Provide operator training and remote/onsite support for equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and customers to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities and monitor truck inventory.
- Test and troubleshoot equipment locally and at customer sites.
What We’re Looking For
- Associate’s Degree or 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Expertise with Allen Bradley/Emerson PLCs and VFDs.
- Proficiency in wiring, blueprint reading, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
- Willingness to travel extensively and occasionally work weekends.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
