Job Summary: Responsible for performing a variety of standardized radiological/fluoroscopic examinations, operating related equipment and devices, maintaining safe radiation practices and maintaining related records.

Job Duties: - Performs standardized radiological and fluoroscopic examinations involving proper positioning of patient, techniques, and operation of equipment.
- Verifies correct order and patient identification.
- Reviews and analyzes patient body size, thickness, age, physical condition, and suspected pathology for standardized examinations.
- Assists physicians with various procedures.
- Utilizes digital technology for image production.
- Responsible for Qualtiy Assurance of images sent to picture archiving communication systems.
- Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Provides necessary education to the patient.
- Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Administers first aid and assists in cases of adverse reaction to media.
- Imaging exams and procedure tray set up require access and handling of non-controlled medications.

Certification(s) and License(s): Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification - American Heart Association (AHA), Certified Radiology Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
