Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our Interventional Radiology team. As a Radiologic Technologist in Interventional Radiology, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care by assisting interventional radiologists in performing various minimally invasive procedures. Responsibilities: - Prepare and Position Patients: Accurately position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Operate Radiologic Equipment: Operate and maintain complex radiologic equipment such as fluoroscopy, angiography, and ultrasound machines to produce high-quality images during procedures.
- Assist Radiologists: Assist interventional radiologists in performing a variety of minimally invasive procedures, including but not limited to angioplasty, embolization, biopsy, and stent placement.
- Radiation Safety: Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols, including the use of lead aprons and shields for patients and staff, monitoring radiation exposure, and following ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
- Patient Care: Provide compassionate and empathetic patient care, addressing patient concerns, and offering support throughout the procedure.
- Image Quality Assurance: Monitor and adjust imaging equipment settings to obtain clear and accurate images while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient procedures, including patient history, images, and procedural notes.
- Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues, promptly reporting any malfunctions or discrepancies.
- Continuing Education: Stay current with advancements in interventional radiology technology and techniques through ongoing education and training.
Qualifications: - Associate's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
- Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and state licensure.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in interventional radiology.
- Proficiency in operating interventional radiology equipment.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- CPR certification (preferred).
