Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cardiac CT Technologist Lead  to join our esteemed cardiology practice, serving the Dallas and Rockwall areas. Be part of the first cardiology practice in the world to use the Arineta Spotlight CT Scanner. 

This position is primarily responsible for performing CT examinations in a safe and therapeutic manner. The CT Technologist is expected to deliver care to the patients of the practice, delivering quality service. In a Lead Role, the position includes responsibility for planning and overseeing all operational aspects and activities for assigned sections/modalities and locations. While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the major responsibilities are supervising all day-to-day operations including the delivery of care, patient satisfaction, equipment oversight and process improvement activities. 

In addition to daily supervision, this individual will participate in planning efforts involving space, equipment, staff, systems, services, supplies, budgeting and financial management, and future programs and services.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
  • Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. 
  • Regulates the equipment used to expose, develop and document via PACS imaging.Operates equipment safely and maintains A.L.A.R.A. standards while performing all types of procedures.
  • Coordinates patient scheduling with practice scheduling staff and practice administrator.
  • Collaborates with physicians and staff to identify proper exams.
  • Prepares necessary documentation.
  • Verifies patient identification and physician orders.
  • Obtains patient history and explains procedures to patients/families.
  • Observes and monitors patients.
  • Provides film/scan critiques as needed.
  • Enters data into the EMR and PACS system.
  • Recommends and completes quality and/or process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of clinical protocols for new services and programs (i.e., Watchman, TAVR, PE, Low Volume Contrast, etc.).
  • Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, practice staff and physicians.
  • Maintain logs and records, equipment maintenance, and orders supplies.
  • Assess images on screen or film to ensure quality for physician interpretation.
  • Manages protocols and procedures to include multiple locations.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures as needed for IAC accreditation.
  • Provides data collection and protocol information necessary for IAC accreditation.
  • Provide and manage post-processing of 3D imaging required by interpreting physician.
  • Assists in training other Imaging Technologists.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification by appropriate body (ARRT) and valid Texas Radiological License.
  • CT certification.
  • CPR / BLS certification.
  • Must have a minimum of four to six (4-6) years’ experience in CT imaging.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and external vendors.
  • Ability to perform CT procedures without supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills are essential.
  • Microsoft Office suite.
  • Electronic Medical Record/Patient Scheduling systems.
  • PACS and DICOM viewer systems.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm. No weekends, holidays or after hours.
