WHO YOU ARE
You are a compassionate and enthusiastic Physical Therapist who provides Physical Therapy mentorship while servicing students with autism, developmental delays, and other learning disabilities while working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high quality treatment, documentation, and compliance in a school-based environment. Your function will be to help students achieve a fulfilled and satisfied state in life through the use of purposeful activity or interventions designed to achieve functional outcomes which promote health, prevent injury or disability.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Screening - Complete screening requests to determine each students need for an evaluation
- Evaluation - Conduct standardized assessments to determine eligibility due to PT deficits, such as gross motor skills including strength, balance, bilateral coordination, endurance, motor planning, and stair transitions
- Treatment - Write evidence based IEPs or 504s for students who have Physical Therapy related needs incorporating various treatment strategies and accommodations
- Documentation - Complete documentation in accordance with Hope deadlines and legal timelines
- Communication - Maintain communication with student's families and/or caregivers regarding progress and needs
- Collaboration - Work with multidisciplinary team members to determine the most appropriate treatment plan based on each student's needs and improve service delivery and treatment
- Other responsibilities as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) program
- State Physical Therapy License
- Experience working with individuals with developmental delays (Preferred)
- Experience working in a school setting (Preferred)
Clearances & Training Required
- Act 33 PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- Act 34 PA State Criminal History Clearance
- Act 114 FBI Clearance issued by the Dept of Education
- Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
- Act 168 from Previous Employers where you came into contact with children
- State License of Practice and/or Certification
- CPR/First Aid
- TB/Physical
