Key Responsibilities for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA): - Collaborate with physical therapists to implement comprehensive treatment plans, employing a range of therapeutic exercises and interventions.
- Provide direct, hands-on therapy to patients, utilizing a blend of manual techniques and advanced therapeutic modalities.
- Educate patients and their families about exercise routines, home care strategies, and ways to enhance mobility and functional independence.
- Consistently monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to maximize recovery outcomes.
- Work closely with the physical therapy team and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Maintain therapy equipment to ensure it is properly sanitized and fully operational for effective treatment delivery.
- Strictly adhere to patient confidentiality and comply with all hospital policies and procedures.
PTA Qualifications: - An Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Active licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New Mexico (required).
- Previous experience in a clinical environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and treatment modalities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within a team.
