A Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) is a healthcare professional who provides care for patients with acute medical conditions and complex surgical procedures who require continuous monitoring of vital signs. The RN is responsible for administering medications, performing procedures, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessing, planning, and implementing individualized patient care
Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
Monitoring and interpreting patient vital signs and other diagnostic tests
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
Educating patients and families about their conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records
Responding to emergency situations and resuscitating patients as needed
Qualifications:
Current state nursing license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
At least 2 years of recent experience in a Med-Surg Telemetry unit
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Knowledge of healthcare technology and medical equipment
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Working in a Med-Surg Telemetry unit can be both challenging and rewarding. The RN must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly respond to changing patient needs. The RN must also be compassionate and empathetic towards patients and their families, as they play a critical role in helping them navigate their healthcare journey.
This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
