Job Objective: Operate a set of up to 60 looms following Standard Work Instruction and meeting takt time. Maintain safety, quality and delivery standards. Complete necessary paperwork.
Essential Job Functions: Operate set(s) of looms. Repair breaks, draw-in, repair smashes, perform style changes, and ensure construction conforms to style sheets. Follow control parameters as per Control Plan and style sheet. Doff loom pancakes, and transfer to carts, weigh rolls and boxes, make out and attach production tickets and transport to Greige area as required. Collect weft yarns and change weft packages as required. Tie top beams as required. Complete necessary production paperwork/data entry. Clean looms and work area as required. Accountable for personal goals and Weave Room team goals.
Level I Certification : Ability to safely and consistently perform all duties listed above.
Level II Certification : Ability to consistently meet Level I criteria, ability to consistently perform duties at the Creel and Warper, ability to perform duties at dry slashing.
Level III Certification : Ability to perform all duties in level I and Level II, perform all duties in Wet slashing and Specialty warping.
Job Qualifications:
- Two years of production machine operator experience.
- Hazardous Communications and Lockout / Tagout certification (or certification within 30 days).
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic data entry.
- Proficiency in the use of a ruler.
- Ability to wear hearing protection.
- Good dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
- Vision with or without aid to permit detail work.
- Ability to perform essential Job Functions to an acceptable standard with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to maintain or exceed work standards which will be reviewed at regular intervals.
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to do self-paced learning including book, web-based and classroom participation.
