Job Title: Accounting Clerk II - Facilities Services
Job Summary: To perform clerical and routine accounting tasks in support of a department or operating unit such as posting entries, verifying, reconciling and entering data, and processing payments. To respond to inquiries and perform various clerical duties.
Education & Experience High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of related experience.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration required: N/A
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Skill in the use of computers and related software applications. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal and customer service skills. Records maintenance skills. Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers. Ability to prepare financial reports. Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Responsibilities - Posts information, keys data, and performs routine accounting work as prescribed.
- Prepares journal entries required for the entry of data into the general accounting system.
- Prepares reports and correspondence; distributes financial documents and files.
- Reconciles expenditure reports to source documents.
- Answers telephones, opens and sorts mail, meets and greats visitors, and performs other clerical functions.
- Maintains applicable files and records.
