Overview:
This senior leadership role focuses on spearheading the strategic direction of a cross-functional team dedicated to advancing the development and maximizing the value of pharmaceutical assets. Serving as the principal driver of compound strategy, the leader ensures smooth execution throughout the lifecycle while fostering innovative approaches to development, securing resources, and maintaining alignment with governance structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for compound development, shaping a clear vision for its trajectory within the broader therapeutic portfolio.
- Work collaboratively across functions to define critical milestones, address challenges, and evaluate alternative pathways, ensuring alignment with resource and budget constraints.
- Make well-informed decisions based on detailed analysis, market insights, and competitive intelligence, with a focus on lifecycle optimization.
- Facilitate team discussions to achieve consensus or provide decisive guidance when agreement cannot be reached.
- Proactively manage complexities in development activities by identifying risks and driving contingency planning efforts.
- Guide the creation of effective intellectual property, regulatory, and commercialization strategies to maximize asset value.
- Partner closely with Program Management to ensure the allocation of appropriate resources to meet program needs.
- Drive alignment with leadership teams regarding strategic transitions, budget considerations, timelines, and overall portfolio prioritization.
- Represent the program in governance board discussions, presenting actionable insights and recommendations.
- Contribute to the broader organization through strategic initiatives, talent development, and a focus on portfolio-wide value creation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (advanced degrees preferred).
- Over 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry.
- Leadership experience in oncology or immunology drug development, with demonstrated success in both early and late-stage clinical settings.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and oversee program delivery in a matrixed global environment.
- Strong expertise in lifecycle management, regulatory submissions, and Health Authority engagement.
- Experience collaborating with external partners and managing high-stakes negotiations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- History of fostering high-performing teams and driving innovation in complex organizational structures.
