An intimate, hidden cocktail lounge perched above Eleven Madison Park at 11 Madison Avenue, Clemente Bar will feature world-class cocktails, refined, plant-based bar bites, and custom installations by the contemporary artist Francesco Clemente. In an adjoining space next door, you'll also find The Counter at Clemente Bar: an 8-seat tasting counter offering a multi-course experience by our chefs, designed to be paired with cocktails .
Overview of Role: Working closely with the General Manager, this role will be facilitating pre-opening processes related to dining room operations, including recruitment, building of training and service manuals, and integration of Make it Nice culture. Additionally, this role entails achieving financial success, collaborating with the Executive Chef, and continuously enhancing all aspects of the restaurant while upholding its culture and striving to be the best in the world.
Duties and Responsibilities
Hiring
- Encouraging and nurturing new, motivated team members as well as cultivating seasoned professionals in leadership positions.
- This extends to the management team, ensuring they are developed from the hourly team or by maintaining connections to ensure a strong team.
T raining - Develop and implement opening training protocols, including service manuals, educational materials, and hands-on practical training.
- Mentoring the hourly team, providing guidance through various positions and equipping them with tools for growth.
- Maintaining Educational Programs and ensuring their vibrancy and focus.
- Encouraging ownership among team members, empowering them to take on projects/programs to foster growth.
Culture
- Monitor the restaurant's culture, ensuring our Pillars of Hospitality, Excellence, Education, and Passion are maximized and upheld
Qualifications
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- 3+ years management experience
- Able to meet deadlines and adapt to changing conditions
- Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with a variety of people
- An overall awareness of our service and food standards to hold everyone accountable
- The ability to find creative and practical answers to an assortment of issues
- The ability to be flexible with schedules and hours
- A strong commitment to being on time and responding to all issues with a sense of urgency
- The ability to stay calm in the more stressful situations
