Job Title: Senior Process Engineer

Location: Houston, TX, 77002

Duration: 12 Months


Role Overview:

The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for reviewing existing PSV calculations, identifying potential concerns, and providing mitigation strategies to address those concerns. This includes conducting process simulations, analyzing data, and ensuring the adequacy of PSVs in accordance with relevant codes and standards. You will also collaborate with both internal teams and third-party vendors to gather necessary information for PSV calculations and deliver recommendations for project execution.


Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate existing facilities’ PSVs for relieving capacities.
  • Identify and apply relevant PSV case studies per applicable codes and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with internal operation teams and third-party vendors to gather required data for PSV calculations.
  • Create process simulations and perform risk assessments to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Conduct in-depth process analysis and provide mitigation strategies to the project execution team.
  • Document all processes, update relevant documentation, and track changes as required.
  • Ensure that PSVs are appropriately sized and functioning within safety parameters.
  • Provide recommendations on improvements and changes to designs, as applicable.


Skills Required / Qualifications:

  • Proficient in process simulation software such as Honeywell UniSim, HYSYS, Promax, or similar.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in PSV calculations or working within a chemical plant environment.
  • Strong experience in coordinating technical information with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Required: Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with API 521, API 520, API 2000, and/or API 2510.
