RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is looking for an Area Lead PET/CT Technologist to join our team. Performs all PET and PET/CT procedures according to the established standards and protocols to provide quality patient care. Remains self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. Assists the operations manager with administrative duties and provides technical direction and staff supervision when applicable. This position is full-time working Monday - Saturday; shifts vary. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (55%) Patient Imaging Screens patients before examination for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination Performs all required PET and nuclear medicine procedures through proper positioning and technique, consistently demonstrating good judgment in evaluating the diagnostic studies Explains and prepares patients for procedures that will be performed,explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout the procedure Monitors the condition of any patient within the department and assists the radiologist in performing needed medical attention, if applicable Conducts examinations with regard to patient's age, condition or other special requirements Assists the radiologist during the administration of radiopharmaceuticals and practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures as required Recognizes allergic reactions and respond in accordance to company policies and procedures for emergency patient care Prepares examination for interpretation by the radiologist to include correct identification and processing of films, adequate clinical history and previous x-rays for comparison (if available) Demonstrates knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment as an integral part of the quality of patient care services Reports contamination to Radiation Safety Officer Maintains accurate patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS) (25%) Staff Supervision Ensures comprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures and protocols for all CT technologists Assists in staff planning and hiring process along with management Manages overall staffing levels for adequate modality coverage at all times Monitors and approves timecards Oversees and assists with training of new CT technologists, providing resource and technical expertise Initiates and participates in staff performance evaluations, compensation and development of associates including performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions and/or termination of associates Leads regular staff meetings and employee one-on-ones (15%) Operations Maintains the PET equipment and cleans and disinfects equipment after each use, checks to ensure emergency equipment is in good working order Takes corrective action for any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns Ensures an orderly and clean work area in all modalities to promote good safety habits for patients and team Coordinates patient relations, ensuring a high quality of patient service is delivered Ensures compliance with state regulations and internal policies regarding documentation and tracking of safety and licensing-related items Maintains an updated PET protocol manual and software upgrades Orders appropriate supplies as necessary following company guidelines on inventory control Assists in patient scheduling, darkroom operations, filing films, administrative billing, maintaining records or other areas assign d (5%) Performs other duties as assignednnRequired: NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing 4+ years imaging experience, with demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to others and identify and implement process improvement opportunities Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform advanced PET/CT procedures independently with highest quality Certification in imaging specialty Preferred: Bilingual Works in multiple modalities and/or has multi-modality certifications ARRT certification in CT NMTCB PET Specialty certification Prior supervisory or leadership experience RAYUS is committed to delivering clinical excellence in communities across the U.S., driven by our passion for and superior service to referring providers and patients.
