Job Description We're looking for experienced, professional drivers that will share our commitment to our people, partners and planet. Traveling to locations on your assigned route, you will be responsible for packing, transporting and properly disposing of waste material in accordance with our environmentally responsible policies and procedures.
This position is physically demanding and requires a driven approach with the ability to perform timely completion of assigned tasks and the willingness to adapt to a high-demand work environment with a customer service mindset.
We at Clean Earth sell compliance, in doing so, we must maintain compliance with all governed regulatory agencies, including DOT, EPA, OSHA and local regulatory entities, this means we are looking for those who can maintain a high level of Training & Awareness related to your job duties and a desire to learn & grow professionally.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions): - Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Label containers and complete pre-printed manifests & work orders while adhering to your assigned route.
- Classify, segregate and inventory waste containers in storage for shipment. Conducts lab pack operations. Pack small laboratory containers of chemical waste into larger containers for shipment.
- Performs various regulatory Training, compliance and safety tasks including, but not limited to: Pre-trip inspections of vehicle, report all losses, spills, accidents, Leaking Containers, waste diversion and safety violations to supervisor immediately.
- Professional contact with all levels of Customers daily in delivering, promoting, and collecting waste containers. Regular contact with many different levels of personnel.
- Overnights (3-4 Nights) Required.
- Provide services related to hazardous and non-hazardous waste removal from customer sites.
- Process and prepare Universal Hazardous Waste manifests, bills of lading and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs) for hazardous waste shipment according to state, EPA and DOT regulations.
- Performs warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of waste materials. Loads, unloads, moves, or stores items according to delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions and performing general housekeeping.
- Adhere to assigned route via electronic routing system with any deviations escalated to Management.
- Operates a Hand Truck, Drum Dolly, Pallet Jack & Forklift.
- Maintain the basic functionality & cleanliness of assigned company vehicle & equipment.
Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications - High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have the ability to Perform & Maintain all assigned training related to Essential functions.
- Maintains a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC)
Preferred Qualifications: - Strong working knowledge of Environmental / Regulatory / DOT rules and regulations.
- Knowledge on how to use & troubleshoot computer software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Some College or waste industry experience
