Durham Academy is accepting applications for qualified substitutes for the Preschool/Lower School infirmary and the Middle School nurse's office on an as needed basis.
Responsibilities include:
- Care for minor injuries and illnesses of students and faculty.
- Administer over-the-counter medications to students as needed based on their physical assessment.
- Administer prescription medications to students as scheduled and per policy.
- Respond to emergency medical situations such as anaphylaxis, seizures, hypo/hyperglycemia, asthma attacks, or cardiac events.
- Be familiar with expectations about student behavior and discipline and follow school procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Candidates should have a B.S. Degree in Nursing and be licensed to practice in North Carolina (prior experience in pediatrics is preferred but not required).
- Must be dependable and willing to report on short notice.
- Should be willing and able to use electronic health records.
