OverviewnnGovCIO is currently hiring for UI/UX Designer for a collection of Veteran Education Benefit Tools under the VRE PSES Team. This position will be full time and fully remote within the continental United States.nnResponsibilitiesnnDesigns, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, configures and maintains website(s) and user interfaces for internal and external communications for the company and/or for external customers and clients. Ensures website(s) is available to the desired audience with appropriate links and security. Designs web page layout, graphics, color schemes and infrastructure to maintain a cohesive website based on the organization's communications strategies and goals. Conceptualizes, designs, and implements a web-based user interface based on current technologies and requirements for computer information systems while staying abreast of emerging technologies that will improve the website's experience and functionality. Monitors site traffic and helps scale site capacity to meet traffic demands and performance expectations. Improves the portal's efficiency and designs the look and feel for the site using HTML, JavaScript, and SQL. May require knowledge of the software development life cycle.nnCollaborates with management, business units and IT department to determine the website's purpose, functions, requirements and long-term strategy.nnNeeds knowledge of web-based user interface development including principles of content organization, site layout, and navigation structure.nnDevelops, assesses and communicates website usage and security policies and procedures.nnCollaborates with software developers, testers, and other members of the system development team on incorporating the interface elements into the information system being built.nnTroubleshoots and debugs issues that arise with the performance of the website(s) and user interfaces including content, links, order flows, registration flows and transaction logs.nnPerforms backups and ensures user accessibility to the site.nnQualificationsnnRequired Skills and ExperiencennBachelor's with 2-5 years (or commensurate experience)nnExperience and expertise in UI/UX DesignnnExperience using FigmannExperience working with VA.govnnExperience working within the constraints of OCTO/Platform TeamnnUnderstanding of Scrum/AgilennPreferred Skills and ExperiencennExperience working directly with the customer to provide mock ups and presentnnExperience working on a matrixed team requiring partnerships with other designersnnClearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.nnCompany OverviewnnGovCIO is a team of transformers--people who are passionate about transforming government IT.
