Summary The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing ultrasound procedures on patients of every age utilizing approved techniques and producing quality scans for physician interpretation.
Specific Duties May Include.. - Reviews medical record for patient history and clinical data for correlation with sonogram
- Positions patient, explains procedure, and provides patient education
- Performs ultrasound procedures on patients of every age utilizing approved protocol Displays knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and/or physiological data to obtain optimal studies
- Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during procedure
Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Medical Sonography Program
- Current ARRT certification and/or Medical Sonography with registry eligibility RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) preferred.
- Ability to operate ultrasound equipment and produce quality images and follow oral and written instructions. Able to communicate with patients, visitors and employees within the organization.
