Senior IT Project Manager Hybrid in the Vinings (3 days onsite)

Direct Hire

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This role focuses on driving project outcomes from initiation through completion while maintaining high-quality standards and stakeholder satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience : 4-5 years of hands-on experience managing IT projects, covering both planning and execution phases. Must include expertise with business applications and infrastructure projects
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related technical or business discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business challenges and establish clear project goals and deliverables. Develop a detailed project charter to guide the effort.
  • Define project tasks, milestones, and schedules in collaboration with team members, ensuring clear accountability and dependencies.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, addressing variances promptly to stay within financial parameters.
  • Organize and oversee testing processes, coordinating defect resolution to maintain timelines. Create test cases when required.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks while resolving issues effectively. Escalate critical risks with proposed solutions as needed.
  • Manage the change control process, including conducting impact analyses and facilitating Change Control Board (CCB) decisions.
  • Lead implementation efforts, ensuring a seamless go-live experience through comprehensive plans, stakeholder communication, and end-user training.
  • Provide regular status reports to all stakeholders, tailoring communication for various audiences, including executive leaders.
  • Build collaborative relationships across departments to align objectives, remove roadblocks, and drive project success.

  • Expertise in evaluating project estimates and optimizing resources for efficient execution.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of adjusting messaging for diverse audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles and the ability to adopt new technologies.
  • Skilled in adapting to shifting priorities and handling complex, interdependent tasks in dynamic environments.
  • Experience using project management tools such as JIRA, MS Project, or similar platforms.

  • Works independently and within cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met and business objectives achieved.
  • Exercises sound judgment to prioritize competing demands and make decisions with minimal supervision.

  • Leads projects with medium to high complexity and interdependencies, applying creative solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Makes informed decisions in uncertain or ambiguous situations while maintaining alignment with project goals.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring clarity of expectations and delivering quality outcomes.
  • Engages regularly with clients and internal leadership to provide updates, address concerns, and drive alignment.
