Job Description

A clinical stage Biotech company in Cambridge is looking for a Lab Manager/ Senior Manager to join their team. The Manager will work closely with scientists, as well as internal and external stakeholders to manage all on-site operations and laboratory management including regulation compliance, vendor communication, laboratory inventory management, and developing standard procedures to support company goals. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful self-starter and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage material in lab and office to ensure continuous efficient operation of the company: ordering, inventory tracking, receiving, shipping, stocking and organizing lab and office supplies, biohazard waste management, LN, and CO2 tanks change
  • Coordinate and manage planned system outages and coordinating large-scale projects impacting the facility and be the lead for management and respondent of alarm systems, including restoration, resets, and checks
  • Liaise with EH&S and other vendors to ensure lab compliance
  • Lab and office equipment life cycle management, including purchasing and commissioning of new equipment, maintenance & calibration, moves, asset tag, and decommissioning through effective partnerships with internal service partners and external service providers
  • Facilitate laboratory reorganization/expansion, including moves, redesigns, and equipment installations
  • Establish vendor relationships to ensure lab stays current in technology.
  • Develop and be a part of our team to onboarding new employees in lab needs
  • Create and maintain appropriate policies, SOPs, and systems to support scientists in achieving company goals


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive, relevant experience in the biopharma or medical device industry required
  • BA/BS in relevant Science or related field
  • Understanding og regulatory/compliance requirements (e.g., GLP) and MA state biological and chemical permit requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • A resourceful self-starter and team player
