Our client is a thriving construction firm based in South Boston, specializing in ground-up new construction, full gut renovations of Boston’s historic housing stock, and exterior projects such as roofing, siding, and decks. With continued growth on the horizon, they are seeking a seasoned Senior Residential Estimator to join their dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a small but dynamic company with a reputation for excellence.

Position Overview:

Our client is looking for an experienced, plug-and-play Senior Estimator who can take charge of estimating responsibilities and contribute immediately. This role also includes a project management component . You will be responsible for accurately preparing detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects and managing project-related tasks to ensure success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed estimates for ground-up new construction, full gut renovations, and exterior projects (roofing, siding, decks).
• Review architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and other project documentation to determine scope and requirements.
• Collaborate with the project management team to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines.
• Utilize estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Xactimate, Buildertrend) to generate accurate and competitive bids.
• Manage relationships with subcontractors and vendors to obtain pricing and ensure quality standards.
• Assist with project budgeting, scheduling, and management to meet client expectations.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members when needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 15 years of experience in residential construction estimating with a General Contractor (GC).
• Proven expertise in residential construction, including new builds and renovations.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes and Boston’s historic housing stock.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, Xactimate, and Buildertrend is a big plus.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A stable career track without frequent job changes.
