Adolescent Support And Counseling Services ("ASACS") Program


Sterling Medical is seeking Full time Adolescent Support And Counseling Services ("ASACS") Counselor to provided services in Brunssum, Netherlands.

Qualifications- ASACS Counselors:

Counselors must possess the minimum following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university (i.e. Council of Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredited)
  • Drug and Alcohol Certification
  • Licensed as an independent health care provider (see branch of service for specifics on licensure)
  • Two years of supervised post graduate counseling experience working with an adolescent population

Additional Prerequisites: License and certification requirements will be maintained at the expense of contractor.


Each counselor must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or a Clinical/Counseling Psychologist at the PhD level and Certified as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor privileged by the MTF credentialing committee at least a Level III. Supervisors must be continually privileged at a Level III.

Duties:

The contractor shall utilize a counseling model that measures outcomes quantitatively. This best practice model shall be utilized to increase client engagement and to measure and improve outcomes. Quantitative outcomes shall be gathered for each enrolled client and used for continuous performance improvement. The contractor shall demonstrate treatment outcomes equal to or exceeding the research standard for adolescent mental health and substance abuse treatment.


Prevention : Proactive prevention measures designed to increase the development of general life skills, promote resiliency, reduce the incidence of mental health disorders, and adolescent substance abuse. These services also provide information to the adolescent and family about community trends and risks, local substance abuse laws, and community activities/services.


Outpatient Counseling: Services based on the best practice elements identified by the latest research to be effective in adolescent counseling. Counseling shall include a comprehensive assessment, individualized service plan, individual and/or group counseling, and/or family counseling. Individualized service plans shall address the needs identified in the assessment with goals and methods and techniques developed to meet each unique need.


Outpatient Counseling: Outpatient counseling that includes a multidimensional needs assessment using professionally established criteria. Individual, group, and/or family counseling sessions or a combination of these modalities shall be provided based on client need.


Referrals Refer to the Medical Command (MEDCOM) or nearest Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) for clients needing more intensive services
