Any traveler not currently in possession of an active State of HI license must apply upon acceptance of offer. Candidate must have Hawaii License by start of assignment.
Proof of flu vaccination or facility approved application for medical or religious exception will be required prior to contract start date. Flu vaccination can be administered during employee health clearance appointment.
General Job duties:
Caring of patients pre op, phase I and phase II recovery.
PACU nurses care for patients after surgery and must demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and carrying for patients in Phase I. Candidates for PACU jobs require critical care skills to assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track other indicators of stability or complications. Ideal candidates for post-anesthesia care units have natural abilities to think critically. Past experience in critical care and surgical nursing is a plus.

Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCD's, Bair PAWS Warmers, Client Monitors, Phillips Monitors
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
2+ years' experience as a critical care RN (i.e., ER & ICU) in a hospital setting may be accepted substitute for PACU nurse experience.
Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
A valid professional license within the state of practice
A Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential from the American Heart Association is recommended and may be required for specific registered nurses and travel nurse positions.
Other specialty-related certifications are preferred and may be required for specific positions (i.e.NIHSS & TNCC)
Shift or schedule requirements.
Shifts vary between 8, 10 and 12 hours and can be Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends/Holidays and vary between units ASU and PACU. No guarantee of hours or shift preference.
On Call shift 0-3 times per month (8-hour night and 24-hour weekends/holidays)
