In the 2024-25 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.
- KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 4th grade, 6th - 8th grade
- KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
- KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
- KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade
For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.
- K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students : 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm
- High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn't include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description Position: School Bus Driver
Reports to: Transportation Associate/Manager
Start Date: Immediate OR Mid-July for training ahead of school starting in August
Position Overview: KIPP Jacksonville seeks school bus drivers to transport children to and from school each day on established routes.
Job Responsibilities: - Conduct Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspections to Ensure Safe Operation
- Drive a School Bus Route - Picking up and Dropping Off Student Passengers at Established Stops on Route
- Conduct Post-Trip Vehicle Inspections to Ensure All Passengers Have Left the Bus
- Attend and Participate in Monthly Safety Meetings to Learn and Assist Others in Achieving the Highest Professional Driving Skill Level and Student Management.
- Clean Bus as Necessary to Maintain Professional Appearance and Positive School Image
- As Requested or Desired Take Field Trip Runs to Transport Student and Other Passengers to and From Their Destinations
- Other duties as needed
Pay: The pay range starts at $22 hourly and adjusts to account for verified years of school bus driving experience. In addition to morning or afternoon routes, there are many opportunities for additional work including extracurricular runs, such as field trips. Safety incentives are also awarded annually.
Anticipated Hours*: For reference, start of school routes will likely be around 6:30AM- 8:30AM. Afternoon would likely be 3:15PM-5:15PM. The hours are for Monday-Friday, except early release every Wednesday when students dismiss at 1:30PM. Afternoon routes on Wednesday would run 1:15PM-3:15PM.

Qualifications - At least 21 years old (required)
- High school diploma (required)
- Valid driver's license for at least 3 years (required)
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug test and criminal background check (required)
- Clear alignment with KIPP Jacksonville's mission (required)
- CDL Class A or B with P and S endorsement license (required)
- Minimum of one year of bus driving experience (highly preferred)
